Art came naturally to Manzilat, like her heritage of narrow lanes, stories of shadowy days and life in Banaras. She was always into fine arts, since school. From soft boards her paintings came to life and they were captured through her lens. She pursued BBA till her graduation but she couldn’t refuse her inner call and joined the Dual-diploma of IIP Academy to chase her dream of becoming a professional photographer.
With a pleasant personality Manzilat discovered that there is a fascinating storyteller inside her. Her story on Banaras is called ”Narrow Kingdom”, from where she belongs. She has many stories to tell, she started documenting them. She is a perfectionist and prefers using lots of vibrant colors. She is a feminist and she prefers documenting stories related to women issues. She is also a travel freak and always ready for adventure. She has recently traveled to Puducherry and has captured the light shaded natural frames of the seaside city and the hazy life in her Colors of Puducherry. Participation: her theme picture in ’Narrow Kingdom’ was selected in Ras se bana Banaras Exhibition, held at India Habitat Center, New Delhi.
IIPian Manzilat Raza is now working on subjects related to women’s issues, and is ready for her solo and group exhibitions.
