Shailesh Goyal

A College of Art alumnus, Shailesh Goyal is associated with the world of Photography and Advertising for over two decades. With rich experience in photography and detailed knowledge of designing softwares, he is the guiding force for students at Indian Institute of Photography.

An avid photographer with a penchant for fine art in studies, he has laid down the foundation for IIP’s innumerable study tour programmes, art exhibitions, photo walks and various photography learning initiatives. Over the years, he is also the leading light behind IIP’s online bulletins and printed publications.

Dr. Maja Jerrentrup

Faculty – IIP

Having a vision in the combination of theory and practice of the photography Maja has studied in Germany, the Netherlands and India. An awarded student and lecturer at Universities and academies Maja has exhibited her pictures in various countries, has published several books and DVDs about photography and works as a chief editor of an international journal on photography as well as an editor of a practical photography magazine. Further, she is a Nikon ambassador and featured in the latest Nikon spot.

Maja is an integral part of the Indian Institute of Photography and exchanging a fruitful relation between faculty and students, sharing her educational and practical experiences to the students of IIP.

Be it pictures of models or ethnographic photography - her visual work is always grounded on an anthropological base. She debunks trends in contemporary photography as deeply rooted in classical topoi by showing their historical and cultural origins.

Shakti Singh

Director Academics, IIP Visual Arts

Shakti did his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from College of Art, Chandigarh. He was interested in fine art was right from his school days. As a Painter Shakti does realistic work majorly, made portraits and figurative work. He did over Thousand Portraits which are displayed in several museums in India. Personalities and Celebrities whom he has done portraits are Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam (Ex President of India), Hon’ble President of India Sh. Pranab Mukherjee and H.E. Sh. Navin Chandra Ramgoolam (The Prime Minister of Mauritius).

Dr. Vikas Gupta

Faculty - IIP

Vikas Gupta is a artist, photographer and academic based out of New Delhi. His practice is broadly concerned with living culture of land, vision and social sciences. His photographs investigate the aesthetic and societal norms through conceptions of time, memory and place, specifically in cultures where loss is a substantial part of daily life. His work addresses the lived experience of conflict and trauma. He engages widely with histories and archives, both real and imagined, to explore the tensions between personal and systematic forms of knowledge.

He holds a Ph.D Fine Art in Painting on Research Fellowship from Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra and received M.A Fine Arts in Painting from the same University. His education in visual arts helps him to pursue photography more holistically and medium specific. He usually practice in film based media and Alternative Photographic processes, specifically Wet Plate Collodion, Ambrotype, Tintype, Albumen Print, Gum Biochromate and Cyanotype. Vikas Gupta has been the recipient of the Neel Dongre Grant/Award for Excellence in Photography 2016-17 for his project “An Aura of Analog Age”, from India Photo Archive Foundation. He has been selected for the Art Residency Program in New Media Arts ‘Breaking Stereotype’ at Contemporary Art Gallery, Kurukshetra in 2011 & 2012. His work has been exhibited in various galleries across India. His work “To Tibet with Love” has also been selected for the Long Term Project Ambulance Workshop with Lars Willumeit and Salvatore Vitale at Photo Kathmandu, 2016. Photo book Making Workshop with Yumi Gotto and Mariella Sancari at Jaipur Photo Festival, 2017. At present he is working with ‘Indian Institute of Photography’ as a faculty.

Amarjeet Singh Maggu

Faculty - IIP

A nature lover, professional mountaineer and self-taught cameraman with three decades of custom and specialised photography under his lens, Amarjeet Maggu is spurred by his mojo of “jagte raho, bhagte raho” (stay awake and keep pushing yourself towards your goals). An avid photographer, he spends his days trekking amid mountains and forests, taming the wild peaks of Himalayas and documenting natural phenomena and diverse human existence through his camera.

Dedicated and enthusiastic photographer with 30+ years of experience in custom and specialized photography, his kaleidoscope encompasses the extremes of the mundane and the exotic. His does honest documentation of life in its natural surroundings, shaped by geographical conditions and the man-made changes, visible in altered landscapes, rituals and architectural marvels connecting the present to a tenuous past.

Manish Sehrawat

Armed with 9 years of experience as a professional photographer, our mentor Mr. Manish started his professional journey as a Photo Journalist. As years passed by, his inclination shifted towards portrait and studio photography as he saw more potential in it than news photography. Taking inspiration from Cinema and its elements from around the world, he sees a world of opportunities to explore frames or composition.

Jatin Jain

Faculty - IIP

Jatin Jain, being an electronics & telecommunication engineer by books and a photographer by passion, believes in the famous quote by Destin sparks "photography is a story that I fail to put into words". Hailing from Raipur with his home town being korba, at the age of 29 he has already established himself as a commercial photographer with almost 7 years of work experience in this field. After working with Dell International services as a senior representative for two years he decided to pursue photography as his profession. His studio brand "Studio Iodine Vapor" has received an amazing client response from a wide range of sectors, cultures and backgrounds covering local as well as national projects. His passion of photography is backed up by his degree of Diploma in fine arts from Indian Institute of Photography, Noida where he was recognised for his commendable performance by securing highest marks in his batch....

Product, travel, architectural, industrial, documentary, food, fashion photography, etc are some of the forms of photography mastered by him. He also believes and practices the lesson taught by his mentors during the photography contest won by him at BIT College 5 years back “Spread happiness of your art through teaching!” for which he has conducted multiple workshops across Delhi, Raipur, Pune, Korba, Bhopal, Indore etc., training beginners, students, as well as professionals to master and excel the field of photography and pursue their dreams. He also conducted a free workshop named “Drastikon” which was for differently abled (deaf & dumb) children of Divya Jyoti School at korba on special occasion of world photography day, a small contribution to spread happiness through his love for teaching the art of photography.
He was also invited as the youngest mentor at the National Association of Student of Architecture convention 2015. He also won the first prize at Matargashti, Raipur for photography whereby honorable Shri Brijmohan Agrawal felicitated him for his achievement. Apart from photography he also has interests in travelling, exploring new avenues, poem writing, playing guitar & singing. He was amongst the top five singers in a singing contest named “Goonj” held in BIT. His work have been regularly featured in college newsletter, various facebook photography pages and on all the official social handles of honorable Chief minister of Chhattisgarh, Dr. Raman Singh including facebook, instagram and twitter. Amit Hasija

Amit Hasija’s photographs have entranced the clients for over a decade (10 years) with extravagant concentrating on fashion photography staging his unmistakable style.

Amit hasija’s interest in photography begins in Childhood day. He did his two-year Mastercraftmanship diploma in Photography at Shari Academy of Digital Photography, Amit has won most prestigeous award PIEA 2007 & PGI 2007.

Upon graduation in 2008, Amit worked as a photographic assistant in Mumbai before moving to New Delhi City as a full time Professional. When he returned to Delhi, he initially concentrated on portrait and documentary work for Hindustan newspapers,ever since and still pursing for excellence in his photographic life.

Dhiraj Anand Khatri

Dhiraj Anand Khatri from Bhopal, M.P. is a graduate in Electronics and Communication Engineering and Post Graduate in Marketing and Strategy from MDI Gurgaon. His passion for photography found its roots in the wildlife genre, and which since then has witnessed the power of Dhiraj's relentless drive and love for photography. A self taught professional who has been associated with one of the world's largest telecom companies, Dhiraj shares technical articles on photography for the Indian Institute of Photography and is always at hand to offer expert consultancy for camera model, photography and other tips . He possesses an invaluable skill set that goes beyond classroom teaching and is an inspirational role model for many. Dhiraj is also authoring books on photography and a travelogue cum photography book based on his travels to Kailash Mansarovar.

Ankur Baruah

Creative Advertising and Communicational professional with over 10 years of experience. Associated with advertising agencies such as Publicis, Rediffusion DY&R, Dentsu, Law & Kenneth and Mccann Worldwide. A decade of being associated with the creative brand building and strategies of reputed clients like Nestle, Hewlett Packard, Canon, Max New York Life Insurance, Airtel, Coca Cola, GSK and many more. An avid movie buff with deep interest in music and art appreciation.

Vishwas Sunita Shrivastava

BE/CE, DFA *Adventurer *Vernacular *Traveler

Vishwas started his journey into the world of art in 2014.He is a traveler and explorer and shoots places in the most extreme manner capturing every possible corner and showcasing it in his stories in the most beautiful manner.

Vishwas had pursued his DFA from IIP from where his journey connected to the institute. His concepts to shoot and ideas behind made him rise along with his dedication towards photography. Vishwas has always been up with ideas in any sort of project as his imagination sense is always on it’s peak and ready to deliver.

He is associated with IIP to handle it’s MP region for various courses and operations. He makes learning full of fun and excitement which makes his students comfortable enough to speak and interact.

Dr.bastian Reichardt

Faculty - IIP

Dr.Bastian Reichardt - Specialiing in ethics and political theory, Bastian Reichardt graduated from the university of Bonn(Germany).

His research and teaching interests include the philosophical and cultural significance of critical media theory(e.g. Michel Foucault) as well as aesthetical theories of film and photography(e.g. Walter Benjamin,Roland Barthes).

In the field of photography, reichardt's practical focus lies onanalogue portrait photography.

Harish Jaiswal

Professional Photographer

Harish Jaiswal is a professional photographer with an experience of over twelve years, shooting Jewellery, watches and models. He produces world class images for brochures, catalogs, advertising & web for leading retailers & manufactures.

Harish is associated with IIP with a vision to solely handle its Mumbai region for its various courses and operations.

Harish engages with its students in such a way that the learning in photography becomes easy and full of fun and enthusiasm. His expertise on shooting is apart from the contemporaries and decades old experience gives students a lot easiness in understanding the science of camera.

Astha Sharma

Faculty - IIP

Astha Sharma is a Light and Life Alumnus, has completed her bachelors of journalism and mass communication from Amity University, Noida. Apart from photography she holds an MBA degree as well. As a hardworking, vibrant and goal oriented young adult, she has worked with several successful companies like Net video, Balaji telefilms, Shahnaz Husain Group of Companies, Spotlight Events and Entertainments PVT ltd etc.

As she continued to grow in her career, she went on to do a few assignments and click pictures for Amity albums and calendar. She worked with Amity University as visiting faculty for lighting and photography. She has worked as manager press and PR for Shahnaz Husain and has handled various events and launches. She went on to expand on her career by working with different Architecture, she is currently a freelance Photographer based in New Delhi and doing a great job in Interior and Architecture field.

Sameer Ashraf

Filmmaker and Academician

A master at multitasking, with an inborn ability to handle with ease multiple streams and jobs simultaneously, Sameer has worked on numerous television shows, films and documentaries including 126 episodes on information technology for Doordarshan Srinagar. His resume includes organizations such as MTV IGGY USA, DISCOVERY, NATIONAL GEOGRAPHY CHANNEL, BARACROFT MEDIA, MIDWIVES PRODUCTION and CIRCUS MOTION PICTURES amongst others.

Always eager to share his hard earned wisdom with fellow enthusiasts, Sameer fulfills his responsibility as a guest speaker on photography, photojournalism, mass communication and visual communication at institutions such as Arena Animation, Reliance BIG Animation and the Indian Institute Of Photography.

Sameer is also a passionate artist and layout designer with a love for transforming the canvas with oil and acrylic colors.

Mr. SPS Kalra is one of the renowned photographers in India. He has been well-known for his exemplary work in the world of fashion photography for the past 2 decades. Having worked with almost all celebrated male & female models of the country, Mr. Kalra has been mobilizing valuable support for aspiring photographers by providing them with a unique platform for exploring their potential.

His journey as a photographer began 2 decades ago as a hobby but later it developed into an ardent passion. Creative lighting has been one of the prime areas he has been exploring and working on in fashion photography. He takes great delight in sharing his vast experience and expertise with new-age photographers' community.

Boishali Sinha, has been in the Film Industry since a decade , she started her career with Rowdy Rathore a bhansali productions as an assistant art director ever since there was no looking back,now more than 25 films as an independent producton designer to name a few, Gabbar is back, Special chabbis.Margarita with a straw ,sann75,and many more .. She recently did cheesecake for tvf , badnaam gali for zee 5 . I am Draupadi and salt city are her upcoming Film and web series respectively .

She has also been awarded Dadasaheb Phalke youth Icon award 2019-2020 And Golden jury best production designer award 2019-2020 .And many more National and international awards .

But as life is a quest and she having been a rebel throughout and the zest to do something for the society was always in the back of her mind . For the society to implement the respect for Film Making , she finds no other medium better than educating from the very roots .Ever since in Delhi she has been a consultant to Ministry Of Culture

She owns a production house called SSQUARE PRODUCTIONS based out of Delhi and Mumbai Which has produced award winning short films and currently working towards other social causes ... collaborated with AIISH MYSORE for productions

Vasu Sharma

Coming from a non filmy background , vasu never assisted anyone and has single handedly Produced more than 6 films and about 100 television commercials back to back ,a career of about 12 years in main stream film. He started his career with production and went on to doing films like Jalpari , Babloo Happy hai ,Kaun Kitne Pani mai , Kadvi Hawa and Halkaa all highly critically acclaimed films ,challenging being totally art centric and budget controlled films.
